New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) has been considering a
second possible private equity bid for the exchange, this time
from General Atlantic.
Sources told FO Week that General Atlantic, based
in Greenwich, Connecticut, was the latest firm to express
interest in taking a stake in the exchange. The firm was said
to be looking at Nymex's books to determine whether it should
put in a bid.
