Following the terrorist attacks in London on 7 July, LCH
Clearnet (LCH-C) managed to implement its disaster recovery
failsafe without a single trade being missed, the clearinghouse
LCH-C's London office was in close proximity to one of the
explosions and so needed to be evacuated that morning. A source
close to the clearinghouse told FO Week that the
backup centre was fully operational within an hour and no
trades were lost as it was able to run its primary systems
right up until the backup took over.
