Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE) launched Russell/Nomura
Prime Index futures last week, and said that it planned to
offer the product in the US through remote access and,
potentially, other exchanges.
The new index, created by Russell Investment Group and
Nomura Securities, will be offered in the US via remote access
to OSE. The exchange obtained a no action letter from Commodity
Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to offer the product in the
US in March. However, the index could be offered by other
exchanges in the US because Russell has adopted a policy of
non-exclusive licensing agreements.
