Eurodollar traders on Chicago Mercantile Exchange's Globex
electronic trading platform experienced problems with the
system as trading was suspended between 11.59am (CST) and
2.15pm on 14 April.
CME said in a statement that users experienced "access
issues" with the exchange's flagship Eurodollar contract on
Globex and as a result, "Eurodollar futures markets were halted
to investigate the cause." The exchange added that "concurrent
failures of hardware and recovery processes of the software
were identified as the cause".
