New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) has elected Richard
Schaeffer as vice chairman of the board of directors, while
seven others have also been handed positions on
Schaeffer, vice chairman of the exchange since 2004, has been
elected alongside Stanley Meierfeld, Kevin McDonnell, Steven
Karvellas, George Gero, Eric Bolling, Harvey Gralla, and Melvyn
Meierfeld, who is a partner of Kottke Associates and
manger of clearing firm FC Stone's Geldermann division, has
been elected as an FCM representative.
McDonnell will represent locals on the exchange; he has been
treasurer of Nymex and sat on the executive committee since
Karvellas has been elected to his fourth term in the floor
broker category. He has been an independent floor broker and a
member of Nymex since 1990, as well as a board member since
1996, and served on the executive committee from
Gero will become trade representative. He first served on the
board in 1976 and has been a member of Nymex since 1966.
Bolling was re-elected as an at-large representative for a
second term. He has been an independent floor trader since 1991
and a member of the exchange since 1988.
Gralla has become an equity holder representative and is an off
the floor trader of Nymex's energy products.
