Electronic trading on Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT)'s e-CBoT
platform was halted for nearly three hours on 7 March due to
"sporadic connectivity issues," which also affected markets in
Winnipeg, Kansas City and Minneapolis that lease CBoT's Liffe
Connect powered trading platform.
Trading was initially suspended at 9.20am (CST) before being
temporarily resumed at 11.10am. According to CBoT, "recurring
connectivity issues with certain trading firms" forced another
hour-long suspension at 11.30am. Open outcry trading continued
