Sharon Brown-Hruska, acting chairman of Commodity
Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), was last week still awaiting
word from the Bush administration as to whether it will offer
her the leadership post on a permanent basis. She has held the
interim position since Jim Newsome left the commission for New
York Mercantile Exchange last July.
