Trading software firm Spooz has told FO Week that
it has seen "a phenomenal response" to its soon to be launched
TicketToolz product, which the firm believes will allow traders
to bypass software patents granted to Trading Technologies (TT)
(see FO Week Vol 10 No 3).
Paul Strickland, ceo of Spooz, claimed that the firm has
received interest from a cross-section of the industry, from
large trading firms to individual market players. He said the
product is due to be launched in mid-March. Strickland
explained that his firm will not supply a lookalike platform to
TT's MD Trader, but merely provide the tools to build one
should a trader so wish, and that as such it falls outside the
scope of TT's patents.
