Chicago Mercantile Exch-ange (CME) has started the processes
of switching from American style to European style exercise for
its equity index options and implementing a number of other
initiatives to bolster equity index options trading.
The move to european style options will be gradual, over the
next several months, CME said. E-mini S&P 500 options, for
example, will convert to european style in contract expiries
after December. S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, NASDAQ-100,
Russell 2000 and Nikkei 225 options will convert after the June
