Free trading could be part of fresh liquidity drive
Eurex US may reduce transaction fees to zero as part of a
"liquidity initiative," sources close to the exchange have
intimated. FO Week was told that the initiative would
most likely be introduced prior to the launch of Eurex US's
much heralded global clearing link, suggesting that the
exchange has not pinned all its hopes on the link.
Eurex US has failed to gain traction in its US Treasury
products since it launched in February, and has been preparing
what amounts to an unofficial relaunch to kick-start volumes
(see FO Week Vol 9 No 12).
