Hot on the heels of International Petroleum Exchange (IPE)'s
announcement that its screens have been approved in Singapore,
(see FO Week Vol 9 No 19), rival New York Mercantile
Exchange (Nymex) is gearing up for the launch of its electronic
system, Access, in Japan.
With approval from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry, Nymex will offer Japanese firms direct access next
month without having to book individual trades through
Nymex-registered clearing brokers, according to a Bloomberg
