Easy does it
With a flurry of events to attend last week one could
be forgiven for missing the nuances of every one. But during
one unusually lucid moment I distinctly recall noting that
EasyScreen's data centre launch bash was sponsored by, amongst
others, CME. Good news for EasyScreen, believed to be still on
the Merc's short-list of firms to provide the new face of
Globex? Maybe. But then again, CME's spokesperson took care to
remind attendees that, while one can trade the exchange via
EasyScreen, direct access is also available - not exactly a
ringing endorsement. Surely that must be good news for
EasyScreen's competitors? Again, maybe. But only if CME is
taking the beauty contest seriously; whisper reaches me that
the exercise may actually be more for show, with the exchange
leaning toward an in-house solution. That could involve
internal development or buying up an existing system lock stock
and barrel. If the latter is an option, can I be the first to
throw my hat into the ring by saying that my system -
'Grindlex'- is available, for a modest cash sum of course?
