Credit Suisse First Boston is in the process of applying to
China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) for a licence to
engage in derivatives business.
This licence will allow CSFB to provide Chinese clients with
interest rate derivatives including interest rate swaps,
options, and structured notes, and fx derivatives such as
currency swaps and cross currency options. Credit derivatives
including credit default swaps, credit default options, bond
options, asset swaps, and structured notes with credit-linked
payouts, can also be offered through the licence.
