Market sources see clues in LCH Clearnet DCO application
IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) could be gearing up to offer
futures products in the US, according to market sources.
While ICE refused to comment, speculation was sparked by LCH
Clearnet's recent application to extend its US clearinghouse
designation (see FO Week vol 9 no 9). While it had
been widely assumed that the application was a precursor to
becoming the clearer for Euronext Liffe's NQLX exchange,
sources have claimed that the firm may be preparing to extend
its relationship with ICE.
