Scott Gordon was named as president and chief executive
officer of Rosenthal Collins Group in Chicago last week.
Gordon, who will assume the post on 1 March, is well known
in the industry, particularly as the former chairman of Chicago
Mercantile Exchange (CME) where he served two consecutive terms
from 1998 to 2002.
The hiring of Gordon put to rest talk that Rosenthal Collins
was interested in selling to Refco. Sources close to the matter
said that negotiations between the two firms had taken place,
but that the matter had been shelved for more than a month.
