Recent measures announced by Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT)
and Euronext Liffe attempting to preserve bandwidth on their
electronic trading platforms (see FO Week vol 9 no 5)
were the inevitable product of increased volumes coupled with
contemporary options trading techniques, market participants
told FO Week.
Future Dynamics ceo Steve Grob said: "The growth in black
box trading - constantly asking for quotes - is something
everyone's going to have to live with. The cost of creating
those sorts of things is so much lower than it was that it's
