The face of Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)'s Globex
trading platform may be set to change, as the exchange
announces its search for a new software vendor. Any firm
winning the contract would replace GL Trade, which has supplied
Globex since 1998.
CME's John Holden confirmed to FO Week that a
request for proposal (RFP) has been issued for a new front end
provider only, and that over a dozen responses have been
received. However, he would not name any of the vendors
involved in the process, or confirm that GL Trade is amongst
them. GL Trade executives had not returned calls as FO
Week went to press.
