Chicago Mercantile Exchange has completed its first year as
a publicly traded company, having seen an impressive rise in
share price since becoming the first publicly traded US
financial exchange on 6 December 2002.
The initial public offering price was $35 per share and the
stock closed at $68.98 on 1 December 2003. The stock reached a
high $79.30 in July.
