Bernie Dan, the Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) president and
ceo who also sits on the board of National Futures Association
(NFA), said last week he may support a move that would nullify
Eurex US' regulatory services agreement with NFA.
Dan told FO Week he would not participate in any
direct vote on that contract for conflict of interest reasons,
but that he would participate in a discussion on "whether NFA
has the legal authority to act in this capacity".
Eurex announced last week that the deal with NFA had been
finalised, but the contract is still subject to approval by the
NFA board, which is due to meet on 20 November.
