Having eagerly awaited round two of the panel
discussion bout between Bernie 'Dynamite' Dan and 'Rowdy' Rudi
Ferscha at last week's World Stock Exchanges conference, London
grapple fans were disappointed at the late withdrawal of the
Eurex contender. A shame, as the event promised to be a more
evenly-balanced affair than Burgenstock, where Dan found
himself in the ring against an entire pro-Eurex tag-team
(naturally, I'm sure this had nothing to do with Rudi's
decision not to show). Without an opponent, Dan used the
occasion to stress the importance of transparency in financial
markets. Not a single mention of Eurex by name, but the
reigning champ of US treasury futures sounded like he was
limbering up for the contest ahead, so expect to hear more on
transparency in the remainder of the year.
