Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) may move into OTC clearing,
following the receipt of designated clearing organisation (DCO)
status from Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
In an interview with FO Week, CBoT president and
ceo Bernie Dan confirmed that the exchange did not require DCO
status for its clearing linkage with Chicago Mercantile
Exchange (CME), but that the designation could be used to
enable CBoT to clear products "that it might not make sense to
clear through the common guarantee fund".
