Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) has signed a
heads of agreement with AtosEuronext to form a technology
alliance for exchanges.
Initially, the alliance will focus on the Malaysian market.
"We'll probably start with derivatives first, then proceed with
securities," Dr Zaharina Zahari, head of exchanges at KLSE told
A new common trading platform is to be developed to boost
the exchange's plans in promoting new products on its
securities, derivatives and offshore markets. "At this first
stage, we are looking at trading, front-end system,
surveillance and information dissemination first, followed by
clearing and settlement enhancements towards the later part of
2004," said Zaharina.
