In Chicago, it seems, the best you can hope for is to please
some of the people some of the time. Having incessantly banged
the drum for common clearing for years (just take a look at
Futures Past below), the trading community around the windy
city promptly threw up its arms in protest at the first sign of
getting what it wants.
