New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) and New York Board of
Trade (Nybot) have both licensed clearing software from US
technology firm OnExchange, a move which could lead to common
clearing between the two exchanges.
Nybot plans to move all its clearing functions onto the new
system from a 20-year old legacy system by year end. Nymex,
which currently uses Clearing 21, did not provide any comment
by press time on the extent to which it will use the OnExchange
