After last week's flurry of rumors about the imminent
departures of Fred Grede, coo of HKEx and head of clearing Wal
Reisch (see FO Week Vol 8 No 21), HKEx has announced
that nine senior executives and five secretaries are to be
Grede and Reisch are not among these nine.
However, more staff are on the firing line as another ten or
so senior executives and 50-60 contract and part-time workers
are expected to retrenched in the coming months, according to
Chinese language Hong Kong Economic Times, quoting unnamed
sources. The exchange has around 800 staff.
