The governments of Thailand and Vietnam have commenced
capital markets improvement projects that will consider futures
markets as a development option.
Bank of Thailand is leading a programme to develop its bond
markets, which envisages interest rate derivatives. Clearing
and legal systems; demand/supply issues for government and
corporate bonds; and over-the-counter and exchange-traded
contracts are also being considered.
