A new programme of seminars run by Exchange Consulting aims
to help ensure that the recruitment process at UK firms meets
the regulatory requirements of Financial Services Authority
Post-N2 (the regulatory regime introduced at the end of
2001), all regulated firms are required to demonstrate that
they have applied FSA's high level standards to their business
and that they are managing their employees as rigorously as
they manage any part of their activities. FSA not only expects
firms to ensure and monitor the competence of their employees,
but also to assess and collect evidence of the competence of
potential recruits. This means that firms must reconcile
financial regulation with employment legislation and ensure
that appropriate processes are integrated into company
